Sustainability at the heart of FEVAO general meeting

INAO took part in the FEVAO general assembly, held from October 3 to 5 in the Somme region, at the home of the "Prés-salés de la Baie de Somme" PDO defense and management organization. The theme of the event was "French PDO meats, a sustainable niche even in times of crisis?".

The general meeting was an opportunity to discuss various current issues within the PDO meat sectors, and in particular topics relating to the sustainability (economic, social, environmental) of the sectors.

The "Fédération des Viandes d'AO de France", known as FEVAO was created in December 2019. It brings together 11 PDO sectors in a structure promoting exchanges, and enabling PDO meats to increase their visibility and defend their common interests. FEVAO defends the values of PDO meats:

  • The authenticity of productions
  • The cultural and heritage dimension of products
  • The know-how of men and women
  • The economic and social interest of PDO sectors
  • The traditional practices of these productions.
