Actions to protect the terroirs and territories

Organisations de défense et de gestion play an important role in defending agricultural areas used or that could be used for SIQO production. Indeed, INAO and ODGs contribute to preserving a collective heritage linked to natural and human factors, supporting the positive image of the SIQO, its notoriety and reputation, perpetuating the SIQO, the farms and businesses that produce it, and developing the economy of the entire sector.

Understanding the ODG's role in control

Each ODG chooses its inspection body. This body submits a draft control or inspection plan to the INAO for approval. It must be approved before implementation of the specifications by operators is initiated. The ODG also carries out internal controls, which enable it to support operators in their production process, in an educational approach.

Getting recognized as an ODG

Any product under SIQO must be managed by a single defense and management organization. Recognition as an ODG takes place at the same time as application for SIQO recognition. INAO is responsible for the recognition and monitoring of ODGs.
