Delimitation of production areas, protection of terroirs and territories

Because of their reputation and the quality of the products that benefit from them, Geographical Indications (PDO, PGI, French spirituous GIs) represent an imporant component of regional development and contribute to its heritage and value.

The INAO is involved in both delimiting production areas and defending them against the risks of land reduction. This mission only concerns geographical indications.
