Knowing the 5 official signs of identification of quality and origin
In France and Europe, official logos are used to recognize products that benefit from a official sign identifying quality and origin (SIQO).
They provide an official guarantee for consumers: guarantee of origin (AOC and AOP, IGP), guarantee of superior quality (Label Rouge), guarantee of a traditional recipe (STG), guaranteed respect for the environment and animal welfare (Organic farming).

All about INAO and its missions
Since 1935, the Institut national de l'origine et de la qualité (INAO) has been at the heart of France's policy of promoting agricultural products, through the5 official signs of identification of quality and origin (SIQO).
INAO accompanies project bearers right from the start of their process to guide and advise them, then the organismes de défense et de gestion (groups behind each product under SIQO) and operators throughout the life of the product under official sign. In addition to investigating specifications, the establishment ensures the protection and defense of names, terroirs and territories, the supervision of official controls, economic analysis of SIQO production.

INAO has set up a portal of official delimitation plans. This online service enables Internet users to consult graphic documents showing the delimitation ofthe geographical or parcel-based areas of PDOs and PGIs. This will enable you to see whether your plots can produce PDO or PGI.
