Make a date for the conference "SIQOs, a major asset for food sovereignty".
INAO and INRAE are organizing a conference on the contribution of official quality and origin identification signs to French food sovereignty. The event will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 4pm to 5:30pm at the Salon International de l'Agriculture (INRAE stand, hall 5.2, stand B051). Discover the program and make your date!
In a world marked by geopolitical instability, market tensions and climate upheaval, food sovereignty is a major issue. Its reconquest is at the heart of the objectives of the French Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Food Sovereignty.
SIQOs play an important role in this, ensuring sustainable, quality food production throughout the country. These chains, which bring together producers and processors around common objectives, are pillars of our ability to produce food for the French, while protecting our model internationally.
Program:
- 4:00 pm - 4:20 pm : Introduction by Philippe Brisebarre, President of the INAO Permanent Council, and Philippe Mauguin, CEO of INRAE.
- 16:20 - 16:40 : Indications Géographiques and Labels Rouges, a common heritage, as a lever for action to promote the reterritorialization and sustainability of food systems.
Armelle Mazé, economist, researcher and research coordinator (UMR SADAPT, INRAE). - 16:40 - 17:00 : The role of Geographical Indications in protecting the French agricultural model in trade agreements.
Karine Latouche, economist, research director (UMR SMART, INRAE). - 17:00 - 17:20 : Quality and origin signs and the reduction of input dependency.
Raja Chakir, economist, research director (UMR PSAE, INRAE).
The conference will be followed by exchanges with the audience.
