3 objectives: consolidating the fundamentals, adapting to contemporary challenges and modernizing the institute

Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Philippe Brisebarre, President of the INAO Permanent Council and Carole Ly, INAO Director signed this strategic tool, which sets out the INAO's major guidelines for carrying out its missions of steering, controlling and protecting official signs of quality and origin identification (SIQO). Today, SIQOs face major challenges: market complexity, climate change, changing societal expectations, competition from other private segmentation approaches, etc. The COP 2024-2028 aims to respond to these issues with 3 objectives:

  1. Consolidate the fundamentals, by guaranteeing the characteristics of these products via demanding specifications, contributing to the development of organic farming as part of the implementation of the organic regulation, securing controls and continuing to protect denominations and terroirs.
  2. Adapt to guarantee the sustainability of the industry, by organizing itself to offer greater agility, revising procedures and working methods, developing links with research, animating the community of Organismes de défense et de gestion (ODG) but also by communicating more to support the place of SIQO.
  3. Pursue the modernization of the public establishment, to formalize a new offer of services to ODG.
