Environment and SIQO: how do you go about it?
At its meeting on December 3, 2020, the INAO permanent council validated three options that can be chosen by ODGs to collectively commit their operators to an environmental approach and thus strengthen their position in response to societal expectations. These approaches are strictly voluntary.

- The ODG asks INAO to introduce one or more agri-environmental provisions (DAE) into the SIQO specifications.
- The ODG undertakes, outside the specifications, to collectively support the sign's authorized farms in an environmental certification process or in Organic Agriculture.
- The ODG asks the INAO to introduce an obligation for official environmental certification (environmental certification of farms or organic farming) in the specifications.
In order to present these three options, the INAO has chosen to produce an information leaflet for ODGs. This will be distributed to ODGs by the end of June. This document will provide an update on these different possibilities available to ODGs, highlighting the characteristics of each of these options.
