In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2018/848, each Member State must maintain a database listing the organic animals available for sale within its territory. This tool allows operators to post listings for organic animals free of charge, and enables buyers to view what’s available near them.
This database is set to evolve. Initially, only the search and listing features are available. New services and tools may be added in the future. To ensure these tools are designed to best meet users’ needs, users are invited to share their comments and suggestions regarding this database by writing to animauxbio@inao.gouv.fr.
Online Exemption Applications Coming Soon
Any request for an exemption to purchase non-organic animals must be based on information from this database, a search of which would indicate that the desired animals are unavailable. The database itself will serve as the basis for exemption requests. Pending the full implementation of the exemption feature, affected operators may contact their certifying body.
