A look back at the 77th Foire de Châlons-en-Champagne
As France's 2nd largest agricultural event, the 77th Foire de Châlons-en-Champagne took place from September 1 to 11, 2023, with a day dedicated to official signs of quality and origin identification (SIQO), organized on Wednesday, September 6, 2023. This not-to-be-missed event was well attended!
Gustatory experiences and educational events
Through various fun and gourmet events, the many visitors were able to discover the various AOC/AOP, IGP, STG, Agriculture Biologique and Label Rouge products:
- Gustatory experiences with culinary demonstrations by "master restaurateur" chefs Thierry Landragin and Martin Fache (with the support of Interbev).
- A tasting of Champagnes, selected by the Syndicat général des vignerons de la Champagne. The presentation was hosted by Franck Wolfert, in association with chefs to match preparations (food/wine pairings)
- A tasting of Alsace wines selected by the Conseil interprofessionnel des Vins d'Alsace, with commentary by 2 BTS wine marketing students at the Lycée d'Avize Viti Campus: Constance Nares and Virgile Fondeur
- A demonstration of the making of Bergamote de Nancy Games to win baskets of products and other gifts.
The public was also able to find out about the Crêtes Pré-Ardennaises territorial food project (PAT), with its "agriculture and sustainable food" actions.

Many SIQO products were on display at the INAO area: Ail fumé d'Arleux (IGP), Bergamote de Nancy (IGP), Champagne (AOP), Choucroute d'Alsace (IGP), Choucroute Label Rouge, Côtes de Meuse (IGP), Côtes de Toul (AOP), Flageolet vert (LR), Haricot de Soissons (IGP), Juices, honeys and beers AB, Lingot du Nord (IGP/LR), Maroilles (AOP), Miel d'Alsace (IGP), Mirabelle de Lorraine (eau-de-vie / AOC), Mirabelles de Lorraine (Fruits IGP), Munster (AOP), Moselle (AOP), Pâtes d'Alsace (IGP), Vins d'Alsace (AOP), Volailles d'Alsace (IGP/LR) and Viandes bovines (LR).
