September 23, European Organic Day: C'est BIO la France!
Organized in all European Union countries for the past four years, European Organic Day aims to raise awareness of organic farming and promote its essential role in food and agricultural transitions. Numerous events are organized for the occasion, on September 23. Discover the program!

European Organic Day is part of the European Union's goal of achieving 25% organic UAA by 2030. The actions carried out on September 23 provide an educational opportunity to explain the organic approach and its benefits to as many people as possible. The day is also an opportunity to showcase the men and women who make organic farming possible: professionals in production, processing, distribution and catering. In France, nearly 90,000 operators at all stages of the supply chain are committed to this sustainable and resilient production method (Agence BIO, 2024).
September 23 also corresponds to the autumnal equinox, the time of year when day and night are of equal length, so it represents a symbol of balance recalling the harmony between agriculture and the environment, ideally suited to organic production.
France is BIO!
As part of European Organic Day, the Agence BIO is launching a new phase in its communications campaign, built around what unites all French people: the love of eating well. As the national organic farming (AB) logo celebrates its 40th anniversary, this positive campaign celebrates the quality of our agriculture and the diversity of our cuisine, behind a unifying slogan, a declaration of love for our gastronomy: "C'est BIO la France". A wonderful invitation to consume organic products!"

Organic farming: definition
Organic agriculture (AB) is a production method that combines environmentally-friendly and biodiversity-friendly practices, the preservation of natural resources as well as the assurance of a high level of animal welfare.
Throughout the supply chain, operators involved in organic production and processing comply with stringent European rules that favor non-polluting processes that respect ecosystems and animals.
It's also a production method that excludes the use of GMOs and limits the use of inputs, favoring the use of natural and renewable resources, within the framework of locally organized farming systems.
