SIQO Takes Center Stage at the 2026 Châlons-en-Champagne Fair

As part of the 80th Châlons-en-Champagne Fair, the National Institute for Origin and Quality (INAO) is organizing a day on Wednesday, September 2, dedicated to official labels indicating quality and origin. This is a must-attend event to discover the various products bearing the AOC, AOP, IGP, STG, Organic Agriculture, and Label Rouge designations, which are the pride of the Grand Est and Hauts-de-France regions, the guest region for this year’s fair.

The INAO, with the support of producers and industry professionals, will offer a wide range of activities for all ages:

  • Free tastings and introductions to regional products, as well as opportunities to meet local producers;
  • Demonstrations of how “Bergamote de Nancy” is made " ;
  • Contests to win baskets of products and other gifts;
  • The Origin Trail, to learn about the various official designations (guarantees, origins, inspections, etc.).
  • A presentation of food and wine pairings from our regions by BTS students at the Avize Viti Campus high school.
  • A wine tasting with the General Union of Champagne Winegrowers, hosted by Franck WOLFERT, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Discover regional products bearing official labels certifying their quality and origin

The INAO booth will showcase numerous products bearing official quality and origin designations: PGI “Ail fumé d’Arleux,” PGI “Bergamote de Nancy,” and PDO “Champagne”), PGI “Choucroute d’Alsace,” “Choucroute” Label Rouge, PGI “Côtes de Meuse,” PDO “Côtes de Toul,” “Flageolet vert” Label Rouge, GI “Genièvre Flandre-Artois,” PGI “Haricot de Soissons,” organic fruit juices, honeys, and beers, PGI “Lentillon champenois,” PGI and Label Rouge “Lingot du Nord,” PDO “Maroilles,” PGI “Miel d’Alsace,” AOC “Mirabelle de Lorraine” (plum brandy), AOP “Munster,” AOP “Moselle,” AOP “Vins d’Alsace,” IGP and Label Rouge “Volailles de la Champagne,” PGI “Boudin blanc de Rethel,” PGI “Jambon sec des Ardennes,” Label Rouge “Soupe de poisson,” and Label Rouge beef.

National Food Program (PNA)

Visitors will be able to learn about the initiatives of the National Food Program (PNA) implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty. These initiatives will be illustrated by a regional project covering the entire journey “from farm to table,” led by the Montagne de Reims Regional Nature Park.

This event is supported by the National Food Program, the Grand Est Regional Prefecture, and the Châlons-en-Champagne Fair.
