Each ODG president is invited to nominate two people per committee to represent the professional sectors of production, processing or trading. This proposal must comply with the provisions of the French law on real equality between men and women, which imposes a rule of parity.
As a reminder, the age limit for the appointment of members designated as professional representatives is 65 (at the start of their term of office). Members sit on these bodies "intuitu personae", must enjoy their civic rights, and must not have been declared personally bankrupt or have any convictions for tax or commercial fraud.
Furthermore, care will be taken to ensure that the members appointed to sit on these national committees provide a balanced representation of the various agricultural and food sectors and territories.
Each member will be led to discover a variety of sectors, potentially far removed from his or her initial knowledge, and to meet representatives of very diverse professional sectors. This openness is, in the words of previous members, a much-appreciated personal enrichment.
It is the assiduity and efficiency of the members that enable INAO to fully fulfill the missions entrusted to it by the legislator, and that legitimize the confidence placed in this institute by professionals.
A letter from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food's DGPE has been sent to ODG presidents. Their response is expected by September 1.
