This year was characterized by the prevalence of sanitary, economic and climatic challenges. Against this difficult backdrop, INAO's bodies and departments mobilized to support SIQO product professionals, who were facing major difficulties, in their goal of resilience.

The year was also marked by a wealth of European and international news. INAO played a key role in drawing up the new "omnibus" regulations for the Common Agricultural Policy, published in December. The institute also prepared for the new organic regulations to come into force on January 1, 2022, by drawing up guides and educational notes to help operators fully understand the scope of these new regulations. Following France's accession to the Geneva Act, the Institute and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food carried out all the formalities required to transfer the registration of appellations previously registered under the Lisbon Agreement, contracted in 1958.

Economic monitoring of production, supervision of official controls, delimitation of production zones under SIQO, legal protection... The many actions carried out in 2021 and presented in this report underline INAO's ability to meet the expectations of operators and consumers.

These actions will continue, to ensure the sustainability and attractiveness of products under official signs of origin and quality.
