Everything you need to know about plant protection products for organic farming
In order to provide operators with exhaustive, up-to-date information as close as possible to the decision (in particular the issuing of marketing authorizations) on protective products that can be used in organic farming in France, INAO offers a comprehensive catalog of links referencing the various players involved.

This approach has been carried out in agreement with:
- the Anses, which issues plant protection product MAs and manages the Ephy database,
- the DGAL, which administers the list of biocontrol products and the so-called "120-day" derogations,
- and the ITAB, which lists the basic substances authorized in organic farming,
It replaces the "input guide".
Reference websites on organic inputs
To find out which products for phytopharmaceutical use can be used in organic farming and check whether a protection product or the base substance is usable, in accordance with the European Regulation 2021/1165, you can refer to:
- The list of plant protection products that can be used in organic farming can be consulted at E-phy. A filter on the words "Utilisable en agriculture biologique" ("Usable in organic farming") enables products in the "professional" range to be selected; products in the "amateur" range, which can also be used by professionals, can be selected by the words "Production biologique amateur" ("Amateur organic production"). A UAB pictogram ("professional" range) or PBA pictogram ("amateur" range) is affixed based on product compliance with Annex I of EU Regulation 2021/1165. However, it is advisable to check the restrictions on use indicated in Annex I of EU Regulation 2021/1165.
- The list of 120-day derogations can be consulted on the DGAL or the European Commission.
- The list of biocontrol products, published monthly in the Bulletin officiel du Ministère de l'agriculture et de l'alimentation consultable on the DGAL website (link to the list at the bottom of the page). Check the "Production Biologique" column to ensure that the product can be used in organic farming.
- The list of basic substances that can be used in organic farming can be consulted on the ITAB website(UAB pictogram for those that can be used in organic farming) as well as on the European Commission website.
