A region committed to SIQO-certified production

The Centre-Val de Loire region is characterized by the diversity of its agricultural production: all sectors are represented throughout the region, and a number of them produce goods under SIQO certification: AOP, IGP, Label Rouge, and organic.

One of the region’s most iconic sectors is viticulture: the Centre-Val de Loire region is home to 21,600 hectares of vineyards, of which 19,100 hectares are certified under AOP or IGP. Its 24 wine AOPs are mainly concentrated along the Loire River, but are also found in the eastern part of the region.

In addition, the Centre-Val-de-Loire region is known for its production of PDO goat cheeses, of which there are five: Chavignol, Pouligny-Saint-Pierre, Sainte-Maure de Touraine, Selles-sur-Cher, and Valençay.

These cheeses are particularly prevalent in the southern part of the region.

The INAO and the Economic Monitoring of SIQO

The INAO collects and analyzes economic data on SIQO-certified products. The Institute disseminates this information through various resources: key figures, regional guides, sector data, and more.

These documents are compiled using data collected during the annual statistical survey of promotional and management organizations (producer associations, professional federations for products bearing official labels) and in partnership with other public entities (FranceAgriMer, INRAE, AGRESTE, the Regional Directorates for Agriculture, Agri-Food, and Forestry, the Agence BIO, the Regional Chambers of Agriculture, etc.).
