On January 1, 2022, Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council of May 30, 2018 on organic production and labelling of organic products will come into force. It thus repeals the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007 and its implementing regulations, which remain in force until December 31.
In order to enable organic production operators to fully understand the scope of this regulation, INAO services have prepared an updated "Reading Guide" that takes into account the new features introduced by the new regulation (Regulation (EU) 2018/848 and its numerous secondary acts. This updated version was examined by the Comité national de l'Agriculture Biologique, which met in session on September 30, 2021, and will be subject to regular updates and additions, depending on subjects still to be clarified.
The Reading Guide is also evolving in form, becoming that of a spreadsheet, with a tab allowing edits on particular articles and groups of articles. A PDF version will be available online in December.
