Partnership for the economic observatory of SIQO in Nouvelle-Aquitaine

On May 20, the INAO, the Regional Chamber of Agriculture, the Regional Directorate for Food, Agriculture and Forestry (DRAAF), the Region and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Food Agency (AANA) formalized their partnership by signing an agreement that formalizes the creation of the economic observatory for products under official signs of origin and quality (SIQO) in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

The aim of this observatory is to pool the economic data of the various partners, and thus improve the assessment of the contribution of SIQO products to the regional economy. It will also provide GDOs with indicators to help them steer their actions and, if necessary, apply for support.

The partners in this agreement are planning a macro-economic publication (to be issued every 2 years), which will be accompanied by other communication media defined by them.

Before signing

Marie Guittard, Director of INAO, also spoke on May 20 as part of a conference-debate on "Quality and origin, pillars of our food sovereignty and identity? Origin, a "choice" place to strengthen our food sovereignty?"
