Rules relating to the Eurofeuille, the European organic farming logo

The European "organic agriculture" logo (known as "Eurofeuille") must be applied to products that:

• contain 100% organically produced ingredients or at least 95% organic agricultural products in the case of processed products, if the remaining share is not available organically and is expressly authorized,
• compliant with the rules of the official control and certification system,
• bearing the name of the producer, processor or distributor and the approval number of the certification body.

On July 1, 2010, this logo became mandatory on the labels of pre-packaged food products in the European Union. It is optional for imported products.

In all cases where it is used, the following must appear in close proximity:

• An indication of the place of production of the agricultural raw materials making up the product in the form: "Agriculture UE", "Agriculture non UE" or "Agriculture UE/non UE", with the option of mentioning the country.
  It is possible to replace the "UE" or "non UE" indication with the name of a country when at least 95% by weight of the agricultural raw materials come from that country.
• the code number of the certification body.

National and private logos may be used in addition.

Rules relating to the AB logo, the national collective mark for organic farming

The organic farming collective mark is governed by the provisions of the French Intellectual Property Code. Its use is subject to regulations defined by the INAO and the French Ministry of Agriculture.

Rules governing the use of AB logos in the catering sector

Restaurants that can prove "quantity produced" certification can be identified to consumers by affixing a statement relating to the percentage of organic ingredients or foodstuffs purchased. This statement must be attached to the national AB logo.
