Vitilience: regional demonstrators to test innovations in the wine industry
Supported by the Institut Français de la Vigne et du Vin and involving INAO, the Vitilience project aims to create a network of 20 innovative demonstrators within 12 winegrowing regions to improve the resilience of French vineyards in the face of climate change. A national conference presenting the scheme took place on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

Built in co-construction with industry players to meet research and development needs, this nationwide project is based on a strong territorial anchoring, taking into account the specificities of each wine-growing basin. This innovation laboratory will draw up an inventory of climate change adaptation and mitigation levers to promote the emergence of resilient vineyards.
The March 20 event presented the first four winning demonstrators of the 2024 call for projects and examples of collective approaches implemented within the industry to respond to climate change. INAO took the floor to explain its involvement in the project, and in particular the interactions between the results expected from this project and the thinking of ODGs, as these results could feed into changes to specifications or innovation assessment systems (DEI).
