Delimitation consists of delimiting and materializing portions of territory within which the geographical indication can be produced (AOC, AOP, IGP).

It relies on scientific foundations in the fields of geology, pedology, agronomy, history, geography, sociology, ethnography...

INAO has been carrying out this mission of field expertise for 80 years, with the determination to adapt to the characteristics of new productions under quality and origin identification signs, to use new technologies, for ever greater efficiency, and to explain their economic, food and territorial relevance.
