A first memento for the SIQO of Pays de la Loire

The Memento of products under official signs of identification of quality and origin (SIQO) in the Pays de la Loire region has just been published for the first time.

This document gives a global and precise view of the economic weight of the various sectors under official signs of identification of quality and origin (SIQO) in the region, based on 2020 data: milk and dairy products, fruit and vegetables, poultry and eggs, meat, flour, bakery and viennoiserie, sea and aquaculture, vegetable and wines and spirits.

A region committed to production under SIQO

164 Loire products under SIQO (excluding organic) officially guarantee the quality and origin of agricultural products from 4,725 committed farms, i.e. 18% of the region's farms. The 3,977 local farms certified as organic represent 15% of the region's farms. The diversity of production in the Pays de la Loire offers consumers SIQO products for both food and non-food products (horticultural sector). Present in all animal and plant sectors, these SIQOs testify to the richness of the Loire's agricultural products. Total sales for all sectors combined (excluding organic) amounted to 786.3 million euros in 2020.

INAO and economic monitoring of SIQO

INAO collects and analyzes economic data on SIQO products. The Institute promotes this information through various media: key figures, regional mementos, industry data...

These documents are drawn up using data collected during the annual statistical survey of defense and management bodies (producers' associations, professional federations of products under official signs) and in partnership with other public players (FranceAgriMer, INRAE, AGRESTE, the Regional Directorates of Agriculture, Agri-Food and Forestry, Agence Bio, regional Chambers of Agriculture, etc.).
