This summary document completes the panorama of organic farming in Normandy and the panorama of products under official quality signs. These documents can be consulted on the "Agriscopie" section of the Normandy Regional Chamber of Agriculture website.

A region highly committed to SIQO production

The 2020 agricultural census highlights that, among the 26,500 farms in Normandy, many offer products under official quality signs: 2,200 farms (or 8% of the workforce) produce PDOs, PGIs or Red Labels; in addition, 2,000 farms (7.5%) are committed to organic production.

As a result of its varied territories, Normandy's agricultural and food production testifies to the richness of the region's heritage, benefiting from demanding quality criteria and know-how handed down from generation to generation.

INAO and the economic monitoring of SIQO

INAO collects and analyzes economic data for products under SIQO. The Institute makes the most of this information through various media: key figures, regional mementos, industry data...

These documents are drawn up using data collected during the annual statistical survey of management bodies (producers' associations, professional federations of products under official signs) and in partnership with other public players (FranceAgriMer, INRAE, AGRESTE, the Regional Directorates of Agriculture, Agri-Food and Forestry, Agence Bio, regional Chambers of Agriculture, etc.).
