With 51 PDOs and 12 PGIs, dairy products represent a significant proportion of agri-food production under official signs of quality and origin (SIQO). To give you a better grasp of the economics of this sector, INAO and the Conseil National des Appellations d'Origine Laitières (CNAOL) have compiled the key information for 2023 in an exhaustive and educational publication.
A focus on the impact of inflation on the consumption of GI dairy products
This document was drawn up as part of a partnership between INAO and CNAOL, based on data collected by the defense and management organizations (ODG) behind these sectors, as well as sales data from CNIEL-Kantar and CNIEL-Circana panels.
The publication offers a comprehensive overview of production and sales of dairy products under geographical indication, and the dynamics over several years. This edition also offers specific information on consumption trends and the impact of inflation.
