This publication is the result of a partnership between Qualimentaire, the Regional Chamber of Agriculture, the Hauts-de-France Region, the DRAAF, A PRO BIO, Bio en Hauts-de-France, and the INAO. It is based on 2023 data provided by the various stakeholders.

A region that remains committed to SIQO-certified production

The Hauts-de-France region has 54 products with SIQO certification, including two new products added since 2021: “Haricot de Soissons” PGI and Label Rouge Mayonnaise (LA 01/22). The region is particularly rich in alcoholic beverages, with 5 spirits bearing a GI designation and 3,260 hectares of vineyards dedicated to producing the
“Champagne” AOP.

The study highlights an increase in the number of farms certified under SIQO, even though two production lines were discontinued (Label Rouge smoked salmon and Label Rouge bread flour for everyday bread). Thus, 8.9% of regional farms are authorized to produce under the SIQO certification (compared to 8.7% in 2021). Furthermore, 6.5% of regional farms market all or part of their production as organic.

Trends vary by sector: the bakery products sector has seen an increase in marketed volumes. For dairy and aquatic products, marketed volumes remain stable. In the poultry, eggs, and derivatives sector, however, marketed volumes are declining.

The INAO and the Economic Monitoring of SIQO

The INAO collects and analyzes economic data on SIQO-certified products. The Institute disseminates this information through various channels: key figures, regional guides, sector data, and more.

These documents are compiled using data collected during the annual statistical survey of promotional and management organizations (producer associations, professional federations for products bearing official labels) and in partnership with other public entities (FranceAgriMer, INRAE, AGRESTE, the Regional Directorates for Agriculture, Agri-Food, and Forestry, Agence Bio, the Regional Chambers of Agriculture, etc.).
