INAO and Agence Bio renew their partnership
On Wednesday May 15, 2024, Agence Bio and the Institut national de l'origine et de la qualité (INAO) signed a new partnership agreement. The aim is to strengthen synergies between the two public establishments to promote Organic Agriculture, improve the efficiency of services and share data.

Organic agriculture is one of the 5 official signs of quality and origin identification. The Agence Française pour le Développement et la promotion de l'agriculture biologique (French agency for the development and promotion of organic farming) and the INAO have complementary missions in the service of this production method that respects the environment and animal welfare. Agence Bio is responsible for communication and promotion of organic farming. For its part, INAO ensures the uniform application of European Union law, approves independent certification bodies (CBs) for the control of organic production, and protects and defends the "AB" trademark.
A collaboration that is bearing fruit
This new partnership agreement enables the two establishments to continue their work. For example, INAO and Agence Bio are working together on the development of the Organic Information System (IS), enabling data sharing and the development of essential applications, such as the latest tool CartoBio. Data from the SI system feeds the reflection required for the work of the INAO and the Comité national de l'Agriculture Biologique (CNAB). The provision of information system data to the INAO also simplifies the procedures for producers when applying for and obtaining the authorizations required by the regulations. This partnership thus contributes to simplifying administrative procedures for the players and operators who bring organic farming to life.
