SIQO farms in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
As part of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes economic observatory, a publication on the region's farms producing under official signs of identification of quality and origin (SIQO) has just been released. This document is the fruit of a partnership between INAO (Auvergne-Limousin, Centre-Est and Sud-Est territorial delegations), the DRAAF, the Chambre régionale d'agriculture.
A partnership between INAO (Auvergne-Limousin, Centre-Est and Sud-Est territorial delegations), the DRAAF, the Chambre régionale d'agriculture and the INAO.
In an Agreste format, this publication offers an analysis of the characteristics of farms producing under SIQO. It is based on data derived from a matching of the 2020 Agricultural Census and INAO databases. The study makes it possible to characterize by product category the profile of farms engaged in production under Geographical Indication (AOC, PDO, PGI) or Label Rouge.
A region committed to SIQO production
In the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, 30% of farms are authorized to produce under PDO, PGI or Label Rouge. The products are linked to the region's specific territorial features, and therefore mainly concern wines and other alcohols, dairy products and beef, sheep, pork and cured meats. The document gives a global and precise vision of the characteristics of the region's farms.
INAO and economic monitoring of SIQO
INAO collects and analyzes economic data on SIQO products. The Institute promotes this information through various media: key figures, regional mementos, industry data...
These documents are drawn up using data collected during the annual statistical survey of defense and management bodies (producers' associations, professional federations of products under official signs) and in partnership with other public players (FranceAgriMer, INRAE, AGRESTE, the Regional Directorates of Agriculture, Agri-Food and Forestry, Agence Bio, regional Chambers of Agriculture, etc.).
