The contribution of SIQOs to biodiversity: feedback on the INRAE x INAO webinar of November 25, 2025
As part of their partnership, INRAE and INAO organized a webinar on SIQO on November 25, 2025, on the theme "Better understanding the contribution of quality and origin identification signs to biodiversity". Video review of the event.
To meet the contemporary challenges affecting official signs identifying quality and origin (SIQO), INAO is intensifying its relations with professionals, public administrations and the world of research. The aim is to develop synergies around experience sharing, technical innovations and experimental methods.
The partnership with INRAE is part of this framework. In particular, it has enabled the development of the SIQO territorial observatory (OT-SIQO), a system for making data and information available, meeting the needs of research at the same time as those of supporting the monitoring of public policies relating to SIQOs.
SIQOs and biodiversity
The webinar addressed the current issues surrounding SIQOs, this time with a particular focus on current scientific work quantifying their contribution to biodiversity and the sustainability of agricultural and food supply chains. You can consult the proposed presentation materials:
- Assessment of the previous webinar and framing of the project - presentation by Julie Regolo (ODR-INRAE)
- Biodiversity-friendly practices integrated into SIQO specifications and European regulations, and evaluation of the links between agriculture and biodiversity - work presented by Clélia Sirami (DYNAFOR-INRAE)
- Quantitative assessment of the impact of SIQOs on biodiversity - work presented by Sarah Huet (CESAER-INRAE)
- The issue of biodiversity in the dairy Organismes de Défense et de Gestion (ODG) in Normandy - presentation by Céline Pacary (director of the Association des 4 ODG laitiers de Normandie)
